Many Australian rock musicians work within the genres that are popular around the world and their success should've been there. Check Little River Band, which is another group that should've been more famous outside Australia, but the things are the way they are. Sure, they did achieve a semblance of success in several other countries, but their sound was quite popular during their heyday and, look, I think the phrase splendid isolation refers more to Australia than the UK. I understand that Little River Band might have been a bit too off in their soft rock style, but I believe they should've been seen as one of the greats of the brand. To be honest, they might be, yet I'm unsure thanks to my solipsist view of music.

Break Free - Jamie decides it's time to break free from Yellowstone.

The day after John takes the governorship from Jamie, the two of you take off for Colardo. He quits job, packs his shit and doesn’t look back as he climbs into your Jeep and takes off for the Centennial State with you by his side to navigate.

It’s the most impulsive thing he’s ever done and it’s fucking liberating.

You switch seats half way through the drive. Jamie falls asleep with his coat bundled up as a pillow as you take over the second portion of the journey, Bruce Springsteen playing over the radio as you sing along. It’s the most relaxed he’s felt in a long time.

When he wakes up it’s because you’ve pulled up outside the private lodge you’d booked on the way out of town. As soon as he steps out of the Jeep he knows he’s made the right decision because he can breathe for the first time in fucking months.

His intention is to unpack the Jeep, get your stuff stowed but you’re already undressing in the driveway, leaving a trail of clothes that leads down to the hot spring only a few footsteps  down the lane. Jamie catches a flash of your bare ass as it disappears behind a bushel and thinks fuck it before he strips off his own clothing and follows you.

You’re already in the hot string by the time he joins you, your hair tied up in a messy bun, your face already flush from the heat as you gracefully bob in the water.

“You bring out the devil in me.” He tells you as he sinks the water, the warmth soothing over his stiff muscles from the car journey and you laugh as you paddle over to him, water splashing as you go.

He can’t imagine what it must be like to be you, so wild, so carefree but he thinks he’s starting to get a taste of it.

You spend the afternoon making love in the water and playing silly games. Time starts to slip away and before he knows it the sky is darkening and there’s a chill in the air he knows is going to bite when the two of you finally get out of the water.

You run naked back to the cabin, Jamie laughing alongside you as the two of you gather up your clothes and let yourself into the building with the key the owner has left you underneath the mat. You gather up the towels from the bathroom as Jamie lights a fire in the hearth casting a warm glow throughout the small rustic living space. You don’t bother getting dressed, you simply lie in front of the fire, the damp towels draped over your skin as you sip the beers and eat the chocolate from the welcome basket.

He makes love to you in front of the fire, his eyes locked on yours as he moves in long, drawn out thrusts that have you calling out his name as he pulses deep inside you.

It’s as he lies there in the aftermath, basking in the cosiness of the fire with you draped across him that he realises he hasn’t looked at his phone in almost twelve hours. He doesn’t want to because this right here with you is paradise and there’s where Jamie’s going to stay until he decides otherwise.

"Babe, you have to bid on me," Jamie complained as you sat down next to him. "Roy told me that some old lady made him read poetry to her for hours while naked."

"Who was naked, the lady or Roy?" You asked, grabbing your flute of champagne.

"It was-he said that- fuckin' I don't know," he sputtered, looking quite cross. "All I know is that I don't want it to happen to me!"

"Hi guys!" Keeley greeted as she walked up, Roy following behind her.

"Hey Keeley! Roy." You stood up to give Keeley a kiss on the cheek and a polite nod to Roy.

"Roy! Tell (Y/N) what you told me," Jamie spouted at Roy. " About the old lady and Shell Silverstein."

Roy laughed menacingly in a way that made you raise your eyebrows. "I could never look at 'Where The Sidewalk Ends' the same way again."

Jamie looked back and forth between you and Roy the fear in his face evident. You couldn't help but burst out in laughter, Jamie's poor soul being crushed by the two of you.

"Jamie, I won't bid on you," You told him, smiling. "But if that lady gets you, make sure to choose something more romantic that "Where the Sidewalk Ends'."

The time came for the auction and finally it was Jamie's turn. He pouted at you on the stage but you just blew him a kiss.

"Alright everyone, the Premiere League's top scorer Jamie Tartt!" Rebecca introduced presenting Jamie to the crowd. "Can we get the bidding started at 100 pounds?"

"1000," a voice from the back called. You whipped your head around to see a young woman, gorgeous and tall, smiking mischeviously at the stage.

"You're not going to let her take, Jamie home are you?" Keeley hissed in your ear?'

"Oh fuck that," You growled back, grabbing your paddle. "Two Thousand!"

"Five thousand," the woman countered, shooting you a glance.

You scrunched your nose. You didn't have that much money to give, unfortunately.

"Go for it babe, I've got you," Keeley encouraged, opening her check book.

"Ten thousand!" You shouted out.

"20!"

Jamie looked downright giddy as he looked back and forth at the woman and you. Now you were the one pouting. Jamie was your man. An old lady you could deal with, a model trying to fuck Jamie right in front of you, you could not.

"Shit, 50 thousand!"

You looked back at the woman who was throwing daggers at you with her eyes.

"Wow! 50 Thousand!" Rebecca cried, clapping her hands. "That's very generous of you! Can anyone top that, going once, twice? And there we go Jamie Tartt for 50 Thousand Pounds!"

You crossed your arms, already annoyed with Jamie's cocky attitude as he walked back to you.

"Something more romanctic than 'Where the Sidewalk Ends'? Eh?" he crooned as he joined the table again.

"You will be reading me poetry and you will be naked," you said to him, poking his chest.

He grabbed your wrist, yanking you towards him. "With pleasure, love."

🌧️Share something angsty from your WIP.

It spills out of him. First like a faucet, but then like a river. An unending ceaseless flow, the glaciers melting and thawing, and cold ice turning into puddles with only the thinnest veneer of glass on top waiting to be cracked. The wheel spins in his chest, offloading water by the bucketful, but no matter how much he talks, how hurriedly he tries to push the words out, the buckets keep filling back up. The wheel spins, paddles dipping deep under the surface, but each bucket is just as heavy as the last. When he reaches the finale, he creaks to a halt. He waits balanced at the teetering top, uncertain of how much longer he can bear the weight before the wheel gives out and sends him plunging down into the dark again. Colin, who Jamie could’ve sworn was asleep five minutes ago, is the first voice to crack the silence. “You’re joking, right?”

Roadtrip (Part 1/?)

“I’m not going in the back.”

“You’re going in the back.”

“No.”

“Yes.”

“No.”

“Yes.”

“No—”

“Reggie is up front with me, I need a good guide.”

Regulus smirks at Sirius, tongue out and teasing as he opens the front door. “There you go, Sirius. I’m a good guide,” he says, closing the passenger side door with a snide smile.

Asshole.

Sirius throws hands, opening the back door and climbing in with Remus, who’s already settled in, kindle open. He doesn’t look up as Sirius slides in. “You know you were never getting in front, sweetheart, right?”

Sirius kisses his teeth. “It’s like Reggie’s trying to steal my best friend from me.”

Remus hums, “It’s possible to have several best friends.”

“No. James is one of a kind.”

Remus turns back to his kindle, “Then date him instead,” he shrugs.

“No!”

Remus’ eyes are back on Sirius, twinkling. “No?”

Turning to his right to grab the top of the security belt, Sirius mutters as he slides it on. “I don’t want to date him, I’m just saying he and Reggie have been chummy with—”

“Aannndd we’re ready to go,” James says as he slides into the driver’s side, smiling with all his teeth. “Take us away, space man,” he says, passing the map to Regulus, who opens it up.

“Tell me again why we aren’t using Google maps?” Sirius asks, and Regulus reaches back to slap the map over Sirius’ head.

“Hey!”

“Because Google maps is turning our brains into mush, and we’ll miss all the fun,” Regulus says.

Sirius rubs at his head. “All the fun of…knowing where to go?”

Regulus kisses his teeth. “I have a map, I know where to go.”

“But you could be using Google maps,” Sirius reasons.

“Yes, I could,” Regulus starts, with the tone of someone who is about to launch— “And I could also have chosen a different breakfast, a different degree, I could have decided to wake up and pick another type of shirt, there are so many options around me, all the time, and I am picking a map on purpose.”

“But—”

“It’s the adventure,” James interrupts again, pulling out of the main house.

The Black summer house is less of a house and more of a mansion, where most of them have been spending a lot of time this summer. To cap it off, the general consensus was that a road trip—wouldn’t it be fun?—would be a great way to end it. In two weeks, Remus and Sirius need to be back in England, where Remus will start teaching. James will head back to England a few days after. He’s got friends to see in Paris, so he’ll make the final leg of the drive up with Regulus before abandoning him to the clutches of City of Love while he goes back to London.

In the meantime?

Two weeks of road tripping the french countryside, from Cassis, where the Black family owns a house, all the way to Bordeaux, where the boys will take a train to Paris, leaving James and Regulus to climb up alone.

The problem Sirius has, is that Regulus and James have become friends.

The problem Sirius has, is that he is no longer the center of attention, the main tool through which everyone communicates. Over the course of the past two weeks, he has seen the blossoming friendship between his brother and his best friend, and he’s not—happy about that.

James has been remote working, and so has Regulus (who technically, is remote working from anywhere), while he and Remus have been on proper holidays. And okay, their schedules have been different. Okay, maybe James and Regulus have been left alone while Sirius took Remus out and about town, kayaking and paddle boarding to nearby islands, and maybe it would make sense for them to bond. And okay, it would have been sad for them not to get on, but they’re just… getting along too well. It’s freaking Sirius out.

“The adventure,” Regulus confirms, opening the map to its maximum before folding it back the way he prefers. “Right, Jamie, you’re going to take a left and follow the signs all the way to A50.”

Sirius is right there, once again, “Why Marseille, Reggie?”

“Because you’re going to have the best ice cream of your life there, that’s why.”

“But I hate Marseille.”

“And so you shall suffer.”

Sirius rears back, turning to look at Remus, who’s sporting a little, barely-there smirk, “He’s already bullying me!”

Remus doesn’t look up, reaching one hand to tangle it in Sirius’. “He’s not bullying you. You agreed to this road trip, you knew Reggie was going to pick the stops.”

“But Marseille?”

Regulus turns around from the passenger seat. “If I give you music rights, will you leave it?”

And that, is that.

Sirius grabs the aux cord and starts fiddling with Spotify. “Oh, there’s so much, I have so many ideas, let’s start with Chappell Roan.”

Regulus is quick to reach for the aux, “No, not Pink—”

“Pink Pony Club,” Sirius nods. “Yep. That’s the one.”

Regulus turns his head to James, please help, but James just shrugs. “I’m happy with all music.”

“No,” Regulus moans, just as Sirius fist pumps the air. “James, turn the car around.”

James doesn’t look up from the windshield. “Nope, we’re in this together now. No one is ruining this for me.”

“For you?” Regulus asks. “How has my road trip become yours?”

James sneaks a look at Regulus, “Since you sat next to me, polluting my work environment and telling me everything you wanted to do and whether everyone else would be on board.”

“That’s not how I remember it.”

James scoffs, “Sure it isn’t, Baby Black.”

“This is actually the worst thing to come out of this adventure,” Regulus says.

And Sirius is there, right away, putting his head in between the seats, pulling on his seatbelt. “Baby Black?”

“I like it,” James says right as Regulus quips, “It’s horrible.”

Sirius squints between the leather seats. “I can’t decide.”

“Sirius, the beauty of it,” James starts, taking a right, “is that there is nothing you have to decide on. It’s been decided on already. I like it, so I will use it.”

Regulus looks out the window, “I’m pretty sure that’s not how democracy works,” he pouts.

“Funny of you to think it’s a democracy. I am driving—”

“It’s my car—”

“I’m in charge of the music,” Sirius cuts in right before Remus grabs his arm and pulls him back to his seat behind Regulus, enough of that.

“Remus, they’re—”

“They are chatting. Leave them alone.”

“They’re flirting.”

“They’re not.”

Sirius turns to James. “James, are you flirting with my brother?”

“Um, not really?”

Remus turns to Sirius, “See?”, just as Regulus turns to James.

“’Um’? What a vote of confidence.”

“Well, do you want me to flirt with you?”

“No,” Sirius says, just as Regulus says nothing.

Regulus says nothing.

Regulus says.

Nothing.

“Reggie.”

Silence.

“Reggie.”

“Sirius, don’t say anything,” Remus says.

“I—”

“Just. Leave it.”

Sirius does.

For a minute.

“Okay, but—”

“And I’m trying to read so turn it the fuck off,” Roy batted at the console instead and that at least got Jamie’s attention and the music slowly quietened. Roy flicked back to the page he was on and sunk back into the cushions. He hadn’t quite worked out this new book from Lasso yet but Phoebe would kill him if he read more Wrinkle in Time without her so he might as well get started on this new one but it wasn’t as engaging yet. Maybe Ruth would be able to stop round with more books at some point during the two weeks; he needed something to do with his time so he might as well get back into reading. He had liked books as a kid, but that was another thing that he left behind on that agonising trek north. Being that young in and academy so far away from home in a house he didn’t feel settled in didn’t leave much time for hobbies or children’s books.

And for that sprint I got 251 words!

Cat - Quick Repairs To Cope

“Oh fuck!” Catherine exclaimed. River gasped like an old lady clutching her pearls. He had never heard Catherine swear before. It just didn’t feel right, like some unwritten rule was being broken. “The cats.” “Cats?” River frowned, his heart pounding in his chest at the sudden change. “I was cat sitting. My neighbour’s in Inverness with his mother who is ill and so I’ve been looking after his cats. With all of this I completely forgot about them.” Catherine was a flurry of movement, pulling on her shoes and grabbing a set of keys. “Won’t they be …” River frowned, his brain subconsciously tugging him to his feet and following behind Catherine like a little duckling. He truly hadn’t known that he was going to come here tonight and he had just wanted to check in on Catherine but now that urge had been fulfilled, River didn’t know what else to do. He might as well be Catherine’s little tag along and go see some cats. “They have an automatic feeder and litter box and so, well, oh I hope they’re ok,” she fussed, bundling River into his shoes and out of the door before hurrying down the stairs.

For this sprint I got 225 words!

Spinach - Quick Repairs To Cope

“I wouldn’t take you as the type for cooking?” Catherine questioned, the knife clacking against the chopping board in a soothing repetition. River turned down the heat and gave it on last stir before resting the lid over the pan. “I used to do it with my grandma. She swore that a good home cooked meal could solve all ills,” River smiled, turning to lean backwards against the counter. His hands tightened on the lip, fingertips feeling every crack and crevice in the hastily applied laminate coating. “Rose always seemed kind,” Catherine nodded. The knife cut through the spinach, dicing it into tiny pieces with a practiced efficiency that told of Catherine’s opinion on a good home cooked meal as well.

That sprint got me 285 words!

“It’s not healing like we had hoped and your fall just worsened those worries. We want to get you in there as soon as possible.” The doctor was talking but all the words were static in Jamie’s ears. It didn’t matter the details because his dad was nodding along and asking something. James’ hand was a steady weight on Jamie’s elbow as his mind drifted into the comforting void space he had taken to hiding in when things became all to much. His fingers ran over the paper hospital gown that had bunched up around his midriff. It was barely covering his business with a slit at the side so they could access his hip. Flimsy and weak and only just holding together, maybe this paper gown and Jamie weren’t dissimilar.

He wasn’t wrong. Catherine had been in a couple of hours earlier than she usually was and had cleaned the whole place top to bottom, apart from Lamb’s Office of course. I Think They Love You by Julian Winters

Official Summary:

Sometimes fake dating your ex can turn into a second chance. It’s all business, but between the funny texts and the confusing kisses soon enough Denz is struggling to separate business from the affairs of his heart. In Julian Winters's I think They Love You, sometimes fake dating your way to success can mean finding the second chance at love you've needed all along.

My Thoughts:

Two of my favorite romance tropes are fake dating and second-chance romance. Fake dating is always fun and usually results in at least a little pining (which is a requirement for me to get truly invested in a relationship). Second-chance romance can, when written properly, produce character and relationship growth that makes the happy ending feel earned. I Think They Love You is a prime example of how to do both of those tropes really well.

The book starts with Denz, the main character, preparing for a big event where his boyfriend, Braylon, will meet his family for the first time. After, we jump five years in the future, and see Denz run into Braylon again for the first time, a few years after their breakup.

Denz soon encounters a situation that makes him feel like he needs to present himself as being in a stable and committed relationship. When his best friend, Jamie, is suddenly unable to pose as his new boyfriend as planned, Braylon steps in, and the two are forced to deal with their lingering feelings and broken hearts.

The story is mostly told in the present but there are flashbacks sprinkled in that fill in their history. Through both timelines, their love for each other is clear. Denz and Braylon are a great example of the kinds of pairings I love in fiction: two people who really see each other (flaws and all) and push each other to be better and happier. These two had me laughing out loud and crying onto my Kindle at various points in the book!

Denz goes through some great character growth that I think will be relatable to many people. We don't get Braylon's POV but he's such a loveable character. Even without his POV, his personality shines through and the changes he brings about in Denzel are profound.

This story has a big focus on family: living up to family expectations, grieving lost parents, and found family are all themes. Denz's relationship with his family plays an especially large role in his life and the story. He has a close family filled with fun and realistic characters. His sister, Kami was a highlight for me. There are also parents, aunties, cousins, friends, and co-workers who fill out the cast.

One thing I really liked, as a romance fan, was all the references to rom-coms. Denz and Jamie love romance movies, so some big moments refer to some of the greats in the genre. There's also a quote about why romance appeals to so many that I adore and think other romance readers will too.

Finally, there are hints of another romance developing in the background of this book (including the epilogue). I have no idea if Julian Winters is planning a sequel but those two characters could make a great story that I would love to read! If this becomes a series, I will 100% be reading all future books.

I Think They Love You is a solid romance that does the second-chance romance and the fake-dating tropes right. It's emotional, sweet, funny, spicy, and everything that most romance readers look for.

Finally got to see Peter Pan Goes Wrong in West End with Charlie Russell, Matthew Cavendish, Greg Tannahill, Matthew Howell, Harry Kershaw, Clark Devlin, Jamie Birkett, Chris Leask, Ellie Morris, and Jean-Luke Worrell! They were all amazing, I thought I'd share some of my fav bits! (Warning: There's a lot)

• Firstly, programme stuff: the note from the director basically just being Chris and Trevor arguing like a married couple. Chris being too scientific and Trevor having to remind him it's supposed to be festive.

● Them leaving a note asking if anybody was a flying operator as they didn't currently have one😭

• Robert leaving the children of the Cornley Youth Theatre abandoned in a forest with limited food and knives,to prepare for their performance of Lord of the Flies. NSPCC and police had to intervene, 2 of the children are still missing today (Ben McIntyre and Sarah Cordell)

• Jonathon's interview where's he's practically begging the interviewer to take note he was 'fashionably late', when he was actually waiting for 6 hours.

• Jonathon saying (in the interview), he's been focusing on humanitarian work, such as adopting a child from Ethiopia and a child from Vietnam. And then the interviewer just replied with "That is Brad Pitt. Everything you have just said is about Brad Pitt and not yourself."

• In the cast section, Chris Bean writing "I would like to remind my father that there is a spare ticket at the box office for him if he chooses to show up." That's so sad😭

• Trevor's section ended with "trevorzbeatz/YouTube.co.uk" 😭

• Pip (assistant stage manager) just says: "They call me Big Pip up north. Trevor's cousin. Out and about and that. Nice one." Like okay yh me too Big Pip

• They tried to feed the crocodile an alarm clock😭 (RIP Nadia tho😔)

• Annie left a little note saying she's "looking for a man" and then there's some description of what she's (not) looking for

• A page saying welcome to the theatre, but it is still very much in character😭 "Director Chris Bean always fulfils his promise of giving us a show we will remember for a very long time."

•Pre-show antics: one of the assistant stage managers (I'm gonna guess Pip? Not too sure tho) was walking around looking for a hammer. I noticed that he'd act like he was looking around and then when he spotted a child he'd go and ask them. I thought that was cute🥹

• I couldn't see the wires going through the audience cause I had seats up high, but I did see Robert pulling the end of the wire whilst on stage with the help of an audience member

• Dennis was late I think, ran across the stage from the audience with a bag on

• Lucy suddenly ran off stage, Robert not far behind shouting things like "You have to do it!" (And then later on she ran back on stage,but it seemed Robert got caught up in a convo)

• Now onto the actual show, I thought Dennis singing les mis due to his headgear was pretty funny seeing as les mis was about a door or 2 down

• At one point we were clapping for something (can't remember what, but it was during the beginning Darling Family scene), and Max joined in with the clapping. Sandra had to tell him to stop with a pointed glare and a lil hand gesture

• Every appearance with Robert as the shadow was amazing, I know it's simple but I'm always impressed with the rug pull and the way he lands

• During the bit where there's too much smoke and it engulfs the pirates, Trevor comes to the rescue but does hit Chris in the arse by accident, christrev anybody?

• I will forever love Robert trying to get Dennis to pick up the sword, Dennis picking up the boat paddle and Robert going on a rant about how he's been moving his arms for the past 5 mins why would he need the paddle

• During the interval the lights would still go out occasionally, fun touch

• As Jonathan flew up before crashing down, a banner fell down with Robert holding a bean, a reference of his show Jack and the bean

• Before this, I'd only seen the BBC recorded version of Peter Pan Goes Wrong, so I rlly enjoyed the changes. Such as the mermaids, but I RLLY laughed at Robert being the Mr Bumble in Oliver that killed a child. Especially when he went to be Peter Pan before starting to sing 'Food, Glorious Food"

• The whole poison bit was incredible, Harry's improv was on FIRE. We obvs did the traditional pantomime business which made Chris mad, he very much gave teacher vibes as he sat down on the set and said it was our own time we were wasting. He also complained that this was only the matinée and they still had an evening performance to get to. Then he pointed out how somebody in the audience was hissing, "Nobody goes to a show and says 'Yeah it was good but the person in the fourth row wouldn't stop hissing'" (this resulted in a lot of children hissing whenever he appeared on stage). Then when it got to the poison bit, a child was yelling at him to hurry up, causing Chris to go on a rant about how he didn't even want children there, sitting there on their booster seats. After the child yelled at him multiple times, Chris gave up and told the child to open it for him, which they did. Then as he was leaving, we were booing again and he was like "NO NO DONT BOO ME, IT WAS THE CHILD THAT POISIONED HIM." Then as he exited, he said something along the lines of "blame the child murderer." It was insane.

• Then, when Peter asked who would try to poison him, Tink/Annie pointed at the child that opened the bottle. I think Chris Leask actually had to turn his head downwards and to the side to hide his laughing.

• I've pointed this out before, but I'm so endeared with how worried Chris was when Annie was unconscious. HE KNEELED THERE HOVERING OVER HER BODY JUST LIKE TOUCHING HER FACE, NOT SPEAKING FOR AWHILE. Adorable. Every characters reaction was adorable...sorry Annie

• I just have to say Francis' Cabaret performance to distract us from Annie was amazing. Loved the audience clapping along as well and the rest of the cast looking absolutely shocked and confused

• I loved that we heard a whole marriage fall apart through Dennis' headgear. I want to know more abt them, the husband that took over to help Dennis sounded sweet

• When Lucy slid down the ship in her wheelchair she was flung out and then caught by Trevor in a sort of bear hug, Lucy's legs wrapped around his torso. Trevor was SEVERELY judging the cast HE WAS NOT HAPPY WITH THEM. They're besties ur honour, I thought it was so cute

• Loved Francis' Cabaret performance again during the big fight scene with the set moving.

• Trevor saying something like "You've got to be joking" when Lucy picked up the book 😭

• I wanted to scream laugh at Chris lying in the bed like an ill victorian child as Lucy closed up the story, and then Dennis choosing to lie on the squished bottom bunk

• As Lucy continued to read, Chris, Sandra, Trevor, Dennis, and Max were all checking up on one another in the background. Hugs, shoulder grabs. Guys, I love Sandra and Chris' dynamic so much, Sandra was making sure he got off the bed alright and then gave him a hug

• Of course the whole end song, Max as the crocodile encouraging us to clap

It was so amazing, everybody was fantastic!! My jaw still aches from laughing so hard! Hope ppl found this interesting cause I always love when other ppl share what happened during their show😭

Jess doesn’t like surfing on the waves alone or with her friends either, unless Jamie does it with her too and according to her last post with her friend Paige, Jess was sitting on a surfboard and not standing, so for me this woman doesn’t know to surf, she made us believe it on IG at a time when she was holding a surfboard in her hand and so she is not a surfer despite what her stans think.

Jamie loves to surf the waves, he looks talented and he proved it several times with his IG stories and Jess clearly looked like a beginner when she went wakeboarding, she couldn’t even stand up and so Jess made Jamie believe that she loved surfing and snowboarding, I don’t understand why Jamie didn’t think that Jess had lied to him at that time and that he didn’t think she was making up a life and knowing that he was filming Jess with her own phone and she posted it on her IG.

I don’t have the impression that she likes to play tennis either, because she had posted a photo of herself on her IG with a racket and a tennis ball in her hand without asking anyone to film her playing tennis for real and she had posted him « playing » tennis only once.

I mentioned that she also stopped « her marathon career » I wonder if she really had one and apparently according to her, she would have won a medal.

This woman does or pretended to do all these sports for which she has no talent, in order to « prove » that she knows to do everything and that she is great at everything she claims or claimed to do in order to become the girlfriend of a celebrity and she had managed to manipulate Jamie, but I have the impression that with or without your blog he would have noticed that his girlfriend lied to him, manipulated him and scammed him by stealing his own personality, his money, his energy, his family and friendly life, not to mention that Jess went so far as to dress like Jamie for 2 years, knowing that her clothing styles were more colorful before she date with Jamie.

I don’t understand why she didn’t just get a kayak or whatever else that this is that Paige is using. Paddle boat? I mean it would be easier to paddle in and maneuver that’s for sure. I can only think of two pics of her ever standing on a wake board which is not a surfboard. We’ve never seen her even try to surf we’ve just seen her with a board.

It was like when she went water skiing in that one video and immediately fell. She doesn’t like doing these things and she can’t do these things it was always for Jamie’s benefit.

There were no action shots. No shots of her even setting up a serve and no video. Maybe she didn’t even play a game there. For all we know she just dressed up and went to a court to do this and then went home. If she did play she obviously was so bad at it she didn’t want anyone to see and it’s odd that this was the one and only time she appeared to be interested in this game anyway.

I mentioned that she stopped her «marathon career» I wonder if she really had one

Jess never had a career at this. She just ran marathons like normal people. Her times which are all public for the marathons she actually ran (she’s lied about running in some or she ran under a name that wasn’t her own because some I’ve looked up and there’s no one with her name). The point is that her marathon times were always below average. There are a few photos of her posing with medals but a few are participation medals not winning and the one picture where she’s posing with a silver medal she didn’t even run that marathon so she borrowed it or stole it from someone who got second place.

All this sports stuff was always a lie. Even on her marathon blog she conveniently got an injury before she was supposed to run Iron Man. Which by the way wasn’t even a bad one. She claimed it was her dream to run Iron Man and she claimed that she was never going to stop training and running except she did. Though she claims to be a triathlete we’ve never seen her actively riding a bike in a manner that looks like she’s training (more like posing for a handful of pictures).

This woman’s whole life is a lie. She’s not an athlete, she’s not a cook, she’s not a goth girl, she’s not a talent manager, she’s not a photographer, she’s not an executive producer, she’s not a fashion designer. She’s a big fat nobody who has curated a very careful but very fake image of herself for social media. Yes I get it, I know people fake their lives on social media but most people can actually do whatever they are claiming to some extent. Then you have a good portion of people who actually are athletes or bakers or painter etc; who actually have talent.

Why doesn’t she pick something she’s talented at? Why doesn’t she learn a skill? She knows all these photographers why can’t she pick up a camera? Why can’t she take a writing class? If she took all the effort she uses into faking having skills she could learn a real skill and yet she doesn’t want that. I can’t imagine how tiring she is in real life or the hell she put Jamie through once he figured out she wasn’t anything she claimed to be.

Paddle boarded and dinner with my ladies last night to celebrate Sam’s birthday!

After Jamie got off work Sam and I picked her up at the office and then drove to Loon Lake. Paid to use the beach at the resort instead of driving farther down and using the public access and then went to 1st Street for dinner! Nothing too major compared to how we’ve celebrated Sam’s birthday in past years but it was fun. 😊

thinkin about how jameson will get the occasional punishment if he says things self-deprecating. how jackie will paddle him until hes crying then making him sign affirmations before he gets to cum. how jackie will make him say 'im jackie's good boy' when he's collared, praising him sweetly when jameson obeys. how jackie will kiss even his cruelest scars and tell him that he's beautiful, even with the scars, and that hes so so strong and jackie is so so proud of his boy for how far hes coming, even when jameson feels that hes broken and can't be fixed. jackie's reaffirming words build up jameson, always building him up, because all jackie wants to do is make jamie step away from his old, sacrificial life with anti and step into a better life where he's worthy and cared for. because its jackies job as his dominant to help jameson see how wonderful he really is.

Sunday the 4th

Where was I?  I think when I last posted we were just about to run over to Rehoboth Beach to see/hear David Sedaris at BrowseAbout Books.  It was SO much fun!  We went to see him several times in Nashville, but it was always in a theater setting at TPAC.  Ever entertaining, he reads essays he’s working on, takes questions, talks about his book tour and all that - but meeting him in a more intimate setting and having a chat was so much better!  Let me back up a bit and talk about the nice woman I met in line.  Her name is Lynnie, she’s a few years older than me, and she lives in Lewes, Delaware (I looked at A LOT of wonderful real estate there, but we deemed it too far from the Edgewaters), and she sang the praises of her town.  She goes to Zumba and water aerobics (I could just cry), she takes tap lessons from an old Rockette (OMG, how fun!), she participates in everything from book club to Bunco. She was so much fun and just so sweet - she gave me her number and told me to call her if I visited Lewes.  It was almost like having a friend. Waaaaah!

She was a delight. Back to the bookstore.  I fan girl over authors the way some people do over film stars or singers, and Mr. Sedaris didn’t disappoint.  He was warm, witty, engaging, hilarious, and when he signed my book he doodled in it.  It was the flowers from my shirt.  He drew in everyone’s books, making conversation while did a quick sketch and for some reason it was funny.  Mickey got a bird.

I had him sign my book for Matt.  I read the book on my Kindle when it came out last year.  This book tour is to launch the paperback.  Matt is also a fan, and I thought he’d enjoy the book.  I loved it.  Anyway, it was a wonderful evening and we headed home through the cornfields as the sun set.

The following evening Mickey had a big party to photograph so I stayed home and watched the finale of Ted Lasso and bawled.  Oh, it was so satisfying.  If you’re a fan you’ve probably already watched it so I’m not spoiling anything by saying that I was so glad that Rebecca got her happy ending.  But now I’m without my favorite happy, positive people to watch.  Bummer. These two....

*SIGH*  I’ll miss it like I miss Schitt’s Creek.  Good stuff. This weekend we crossed the bridge to celebrate Tyler’s birthday.  We stayed with Little Miss so Ty and Jamie could go run free for a bit, then we all shared dinner, presents, and brownies with ice cream.  It was such fun.  In just a couple of months the grandgirl will be in kindergarten, she’s grown up so much just since we moved here.  We’ll drive over to attend her preschool graduation on Friday.  I know that in the blink of an eye it’ll be middle school and then high school graduation. Yikes!  I’d love to pump the breaks on all of that, but I’m glad we’re here to enjoy it.  On the way home I always try to snap a picture of the big ships lined up in the Chesapeake Bay.

They’re waaaay out there so I can’t get a clear shot from a moving car, but I love seeing them.  I found a website that identifies each ship and its origin country, so I’ll pull it up on my phone and see that one is traveling under the flag of Japan, another from Brazil, or whatever.  You can usually pull up information showing their last port of call and sometimes what they’re carrying.  Don’t ask me why I find it all fascinating, I just do.  I look out at those massive ships and imagine the different languages, music, and meals onboard.  

  In other news, no, they haven’t caught the python yet.  That’s why I gave a resounding NO when the mister asked if I wanted to go kayaking today.  Well, that and kayaking doesn’t interest me at all. But kayaking with a chance of a python popping up is a thousand times less appealing than normal kayaking. Hard pass.  Mickey and I have very different ideas of enjoyable activities, especially for fitness.  He wants to scramble over rocks, drift down rivers (and have to paddle against the current coming back), stomp through poison ivy, and become a host for ticks.  I prefer a nice, climate controlled activity with a group of women, a soundtrack, and maybe a cold beverage afterward.  Zumba, Jazzercise, water aerobics, that sort of thing. I never got a single tick at the Jimmy Floyd pool. Just sayin’.  I’m past the age where I want to be uncomfortable. I get plenty of exercise working in the yard, I get a dose of sunshine, and I can play tunes or a crime podcast while I do it.  Then I sit in my  shady nook on the porch and enjoy a cool drink.  Won’t be long before this patch is all zinnias and sunflowers.

While I was enjoying a beverage in my shady spot, I flipped through the local paper.  There was a section listing all of the “Best of the Chesapeake” from hair salons to BBQ to physicians.  This one made me giggle.

Speech therapists! Can you imagine having a speech issue and having to call and make an appointment with any of those names??  Impossible! I did not see a category for best snake catchers on the Eastern Shore. Oh well, the day is slipping away from me and I need to get dinner started.  Kind of wishing Mickey had something to go photograph so I could just pop some popcorn and say I had veggies for dinner.  Not gonna’ happen, guess I’d better get busy.
